When Disaster Strikes: Are You Prepared?
Fire, flooding, hurricanes, wind damage and other unexpected events can happen quickly. For property owners and real estate investors, knowing what to do before disaster strikes—and understanding what happens once an insurance claim is filed—can make a significant difference.
Michael will walk us through the insurance claims process from the property owner's perspective, including:
• When should you file an insurance claim? • What should a property owner do immediately after a loss? • What rights do you have as the insured? • How do the claims, adjustment and repair processes work? • What should be included in a property owner's emergency response plan and file? • What are the different types of insurance adjusters, who do they work for and what are their roles? • When does it make sense to contact a public adjuster?
Whether you own one property or an entire portfolio, this is information you don't want to be figuring out for the first time in the middle of an emergency.
